Pilates

Why do Pilates?

The Pilates method was developed back in the 1940s by Joseph Pilates who first used the yoga-like moves to rehabilitate Second World War soldiers.

Since then different groups have added their own moves but essentially it's a movement method which involves training your muscles to improve posture and spinal alignment.

By focusing on your core strength, you enhance stabilisation so you are better able to support the larger ligaments, tendons and joints.

Why is it so good for you?

Pilates encourages you to move more effectively. It improves your overall agility, flexibility and strength.

Yoga can help with

  • Rehabilitation
  • Sports performance
  • Mobility and self esteem
  • General health and well-being
